Quire Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Quire is a local-first document scanner. Scanning, OCR, PDF creation, and library storage are intended to happen on your device. Quire does not operate a Quire cloud account or Quire document sync service in the audited product.
2. Information processed on your device
- Camera captures of paper documents (with permission)
- Files you import via the system picker
- Document images, PDFs, library metadata, tags, and on-device search index data
- OCR text extracted on-device for searchable PDFs
- App preferences stored locally
- App Lock / biometric unlock prompts (system biometrics; Quire does not receive biometric templates)
3. What Quire does not collect
- No Quire user accounts
- No automatic upload of documents to a Quire-operated server
- No third-party analytics SDK phoning home by default
- No crash-reporting SDK in the audited dependencies
- No advertising / tracking SDK

5. Sharing
Quire does not automatically share documents with Quire servers. You may export or share documents yourself. Apple processes purchase transactions under Apple’s policies.
6. Purchases (Quire Pro)
Subscriptions and lifetime unlocks are sold through the Apple App Store. Payment details are handled by Apple. Quire receives StoreKit entitlement status to unlock features on device. Entitlement changes do not delete your local documents.
7. Permissions
Camera (scanning) and Face ID / biometrics (optional App Lock). Manage permissions in iOS Settings.
8. Retention and deletion
Documents remain until you delete them or uninstall Quire. Uninstall removes the app sandbox.
9. Security
Documents stay in the app sandbox on your device. Optional App Lock uses the system biometric/passcode prompt. Quire does not operate a Quire cloud copy of your library in the audited product.
10. User controls
- Delete documents in the library
- Revoke Camera / Face ID permissions in iOS Settings
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple ID subscription settings
- Restore Purchases from the paywall or Settings
- Uninstall Quire to remove local sandbox data
